Lead Systems Analyst- JD Edwards #1035218
Job Description:
  • The Lead JDE Systems Analyst will work with functional owners in our manufacturing, engineering, product data management (PDM), sales (configurator), cost accounting, supply chain, and materials areas to design and implement efficient and sound business processes.
  • The Lead Business Analyst role performs the duty of business relationship manager, liaison to the development/technical team, and functional users, gathers business requirements, performs analysis of the requirements, defines and develops solutions, and on occasion will lead project plan development and leading of the project team.
  • The McNeilus team is highly collaborative, and this position will present the opportunity to mentor and develop junior/entry level team members in all areas of being a business analyst.
 
This role is fully onsite in Dodge Center, MN. Many people choose to live in nearby Rochester, MN.
 
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties will be assigned.
  • Serve as the Digital Technology (DT) Business Analyst expert in understanding business requirements, system capabilities and configuration, development of system documentation and implementation of quality software solutions.
  • Serve as the liaison for the functional areas between the DT application team and the business.
  • Lead large cross-functional projects and solution design within various functional areas utilizing broader knowledge of the business to track and manage business requirements.
  • Lead the process for identifying and gathering appropriate business requirements to create the necessary solution that satisfy the business need including facilitation of requirements gathering within multiple business functional areas to develop a comprehensive business requirements document(s).
  • Lead the development of functional and technical specifications based on business requirements.
  • Manage changes to requirements, assess impacts of changes, and track requirements from business case to implemented solution.
  • Lead the cross functional test plan creation and partner with business unit subject matter experts (SME) to develop test scripts.
  • Supervise the integration of testing for cross-functional projects and provide support for user acceptance testing.
  • Execute and define test scenarios, plans, strategies, and the creation of test scripts.
  • Provide production support by supplying artifacts (data model, data maps, knowledge base articles, etc.) and educating the support team when applicable.
  • Define and create project related policies and procedures including review of cross-functional project related policies and procedures, and end user training documentation.
  • Provide ongoing day-to-day support for the applications team in addition to project management responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Business/System Analysis, Digital Technology, or in a related area.
  • Experience working in DT supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 or higher.
  • Analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in business analytics and system design analysis.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced Customer Service skills.
  • Experience working independently and taking initiative.
  • Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
 
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Relevant industry recognized certifications (IIBA, ITIL, CBAP, CCAB)
  • Knowledge of ITIL IT Service management and experience defining, deploying and managing ITSM Processes.
  • DT Systems Analyst experience in a multi-facility Manufacturing organization with a direct and dealer sales model.

Core Technical Requirements
  • Strong JD Edwards (JDE) expertise: Experience specifically with JDE EnterpriseOne, ideally version 9.2 or higher (they are migrating from 8.12 to 9.2).
  • Manufacturing module experience is critical:
  • Must understand manufacturing processes deeply.
  • Familiarity with work orders, bills of materials, product data management (PDM), cost accounting, and shop floor execution.
  • Candidates who only know JDE but not manufacturing will not be considered.
  • Must have Systems knowledge, not just business analysis:
  • Must understand the technical capabilities of JDE, not just the business side.
  • They should know how to translate requirements into functional/technical specs, use OMW (Object Management Workbench), configure versions, manage menus, and define processing options and data selections.
  • Strong familiarity with configurator functionality is a major plus.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn edge systems (MES, CPQ, DSI, Jagger, Reliance QMS, Smart Team, SolidWorks).
 
  1. Must-Have Business Context
  • Manufacturing Industry Experience:
  • Heavy or complex manufacturing preferred.
  • Ideally experience in multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Understands make-to-order and configured-to-order production models.
  • Familiar with change management (CN) processes and how product changes mid-run can impact BOMs and cost.
  • ERP integration experience:
  • Ability to learn and support integrations with various manufacturing edge systems (CPQ, MES, etc.).
  • Multi-plant knowledge:
  • Dodge Center, MN (main plant)
  • Riceville, IA (component feeder plant)
  • Murfreesboro, TN (battery electric chassis manufacturing)
 
  1. Ideal Candidate Traits
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Operates independently; acts as a lead resource within a small, highly collaborative team.
  • Capable of leading small projects or efforts across cross-functional teams.
  • Confident communicator who can engage directly with business partners, define needs, and offer alternatives when standard functionality doesn't meet requirements.
  • Strong understanding of system impact and table structures; can articulate what happens behind the scenes in JDE applications.
  • Ownership mindset and detail orientation.
  • Comfortable working in a highly customized ERP environment while helping move toward more standardization.
 
MUST HAVES:
  • JD Edwards 9.2 or 8.12 experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Work orders, BOMs, PDM, MRP, and cost accounting
  • Functional/technical spec writing
  • OMW, version control, processing options, security
  • Leadership/project experience (no direct reports)
  • Willingness to relocate/live in Dodge Center/Rochester
 
Strong Plus:
  • Configurator experience (CPQ) and Understanding of CN processes
